This hotel was the perfect choice for our honeymoon, and it would be perfect for anyone else on honeymoon, celebrating a special anniversary, or just wanting to have a romantic no-worries getaway. The location was awesome with its exclusive close vicinity to the beautiful Po’ipu beach. Just footsteps from your front porch is plenty of room to stretch out on the beach and soak up some rays, jump in with your surf board ready, or snorkel to see large schools of fish. Upon arrival, the staff is ready and waiting to take your car and luggage from you, check you in and give you the grand tour of the resort. A concierge spends 15 minutes to a half hour (as long as you need) with you to acquaint you with the resort and with all the amenities in your room (including a mini-espresso machine all yours for the duration of your stay). With the small size of the resort, the staff has the abiltity to cater to your every need, and they will greet you by name each time they see you. An additional perk of the resort is that because it’s smaller and more private, there’s not much to cater to the kiddos – great for those looking for more relaxing pool-side days…not so good for families with young ones. Be sure to get the breakfast package…it will save you money and be much more convenient than going somewhere for breakfast each morning. All of their menus at Red Salt are amazing. For dinner, you’ll have to try the Pork Luau appetizer…we went back for it again on our last night just for one last taste. It just melts in your mouth. The decor of the resort is beautiful, very modern. There is always plenty of room in the pool to lounge, take a dip or soak in the hot tub. If you can get an ocean view or even partial ocean view room, please do so. “Mountain view” does mean you face the mountains, but that also means you face the parking lot. Request the Ekolu building because of the location of the sun in the afternoon. However, the Eha building could afford you a view of the stunning sunsets. Do like we did and get a room on the top floor (or middle) and keep your lanai screened while you sleep so you can hear the waves hitting the shore. If you go to the spa for a massage, be sure to get the NFR (neuro fascial re-education) by Gary Remes. (Read about it online.) The only thing you’ll regret about it is that you probably can’t find someone back home to do it more often. Also, tid bit of info…the laundry machines only require $1 for a full wash and $1 for a full dry. Snorkel and beach gear rentals are available pool side, and all towels are provided. There are 2 cleanings per day for the rooms, which really helps considering you will probably use the shower a couple times per day. I have no complaints, which is not usually the case for me. We can’t wait to come back!
